The public company Lithuanian Music Performers' Information Centre was founded in 2000 on the initiative of the pianist Živilė Karkauskaitė and musicologist Aldona Juodelienė. The Lithuanian National Philharmonic is one of the founders. The Open Society Fund - Lithuania (OSFL) supported the idea of the Centre. One of the most important tasks of the Centre is to collect, spread and deepen knowledge of Lithuanian music performers, to present their art for Lithuanian and foreign concert agencies, record companies, festivals, competition organisers and educational structures.
