Gražina Ručytė-Landsbergienė is one of the most prominent Lithuanian pianists-concertmasters of our time. She has performed together with almost all famous Lithuanian vocalists and also with some international musicians. The pianist has deeply matured skills in interpretation: the perfect sound of the instrument and the duo of the voice and the instrument.

Gražina Ručytė-Landsbergienė was born in 1930, Anykščiai. In 1938, only eight years old, she was already on the stage: she was accompanying to the male voice choir of her home town. In 1948 she graduated from the Gymnasium for Girls in Panevėžys; she also studied at the Music School of Panevėžys. In 1948 – 49 she studied part time at the Kaunas Conservatoire. While still a student she accompanied famous soloists:  Aleksandra Staškevičiūtė and Juozas Babravičius.

In 1949 deportation to Siberia interrupted the pianist’s studies and concerts. She lived in exile for almost nine years (Olkhon Island, the Baikal, Zima, Irkutsk and Sverdlovsk). However, even there she did not stop studying music: in 1950 – 52 she studied at the Music School of Irkutsk, in 1954 –1957, at the Sverdlovsk Conservatoire. After having returned to Lithuania, she studied piano at the Lithuanian State Conservatoire with Prof. Balys Dvarionas in 1957 – 59; she graduated with distinction.

In 1958 – 1985, Ručytė-Landsbergienė worked as an accompanist at the Lithuanian Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre helping the soloists to prepare their roles in all productions. Since 1989 she has been teaching piano and accompanying at the Lithuanian State Conservatoire (now Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre). Since 1990, she has been Associated Professor at the LMTA and Professor, since 1999.

The pianist has given over 400 concerts with various soloists: Virgilijus Noreika, Gražina Apanavičiūtė, Antanas Kučingis, Vaclovas Daunoras, Giedrė Kaukaitė, Regina Maciūtė, Judita Leitaitė, Regina Tumalevičiūtė, Birutė Almonaitytė, Bronius Tamašauskas, Gintarė Skerytė, Algirdas Janutas, German singer Peter Schreier and others. She has given concerts in Sweden, Germany, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, USA, Australia and former USSR. She has recorded ten records.
